Frequently asked questions
What should I pack?
Pack warm, layered clothing suitable for Arctic conditions—thermal base layers, wool sweaters, a down jacket, windproof outerwear, hat, gloves, and sturdy boots. Bring comfortable clothes for yoga (indoor sessions), a swimsuit for sauna dips, and a reusable water bottle. A detailed packing list will be sent upon registration. Please refer to Snowfox Travel website for more info.
What can I expect regarding weather conditions and safety?
Svalbard’s weather is ever-changing—expect crisp air, possible snow, and moments of brilliant Arctic light. Safety is our top priority. We work closely with experienced local guides and follow all safety regulations. Before each outdoor activity, we’ll brief you on conditions and safety measures so you can feel confident and cared for in every moment.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Many of our guests arrive solo, and the retreat naturally becomes a space to meet like-minded souls, form genuine connections, and share in the experience together. At the same time, there’s ample room to turn inward and honor solitude—allowing the journey to unfold in whatever way feels most honest for you.
Do I need a yoga mat?
Yoga mats and props will be provided, but you’re always welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Do I need travel insurance?
We highly recommend all participants to have valid travel insurance that covers medical emergencies and flight cancellations. Search and rescue during organized retreat activities is covered by Snowfox Travel, but personal travel insurance ensures you’re protected in all other situations.
Do I need a visa to enter Svalbard?
Svalbard is visa-free, but if you need a visa to enter mainland Norway, you’ll need a double-entry Schengen visa to travel to and from Svalbard via Oslo or Tromsø.
Am I allowed to drive my own snowmobile?
Anyone with a valid driver’s license that permits driving on Svalbard can join a guided snowmobile tour. During the retreat, all excursions will be led by certified professionals to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
How does the payment work?
A 20% deposit is required to reserve your spot. The remaining balance is due 60 days before the retreat start date. Payment details will be provided upon registration.
If I decide to cancel my trip, will I get a refund?
In the event of cancellation by the Participant before 60 days prior to the retreat start date: 30% of the travel sum applies; in the event of cancellation between 59 days and 30 days before the retreat, 70% of the travel sum cancellation fee applies - in this case means there will be a 30% refund done by the Organizers, when the final (full) payment was done by the Participant.
In the event of cancellation 30 days before the Trip, there is no refund / 100% cancellation fee applies. We highly recommend travel insurance that includes flight and trip cancellation coverage for extra peace of mind.
